The Hearth - Open December 1st - February 28th
Guests must sign in between 8:00-10:00PM at First Baptist Church (1111 Fort Street) on any given night that we are operating. If no guests have signed in by 10:00PM, we will close for the night.

About
The Ellis County Ministerial Alliance is working with First Baptist Church of Hays and others to provide a safe and warm place where people can sleep. The Hearth will be open December 1 - February 28 as long as we have guests by 8:00-10:00pm; if we have no guests or if we have insufficient volunteers for a given night due to unforeseen circumstances then we will close for the night.
TRAINING SESSIONS
People wanting to volunteer for The Hearth will need to attend a free online training provided by the American Red Cross on engaging individuals, de-escalation, and more. Volunteers will also go through a brief site orientation where we also discuss operating procedures, safety, and a few other topics. If you completed our training last year, you do not need to do the online course this year.
